A Systematic Design of a Compact Wideband Hybrid Directional Coupler Based on Printed RGW Technology

Printed ridge gap waveguide (PRGW) is considered among the state of art guiding technologies due to its low signal distortion and loss at Millimeter Wave (mmWave) spectrum, which motivates research community use this structure as a host technology for various passive microwave mmWave components. One most important components used in antenna beam-switching networks quadrature hybrid directional coupler providing power division with 90° phase shift. A featured design broadband compact PRGW propose paper. novel methodology, based on mode analysis, introduced objective coupler. The proposed suitable applications small electrical dimensions ( $1.2\,\,\lambda _{o} \times 1.2\,\,\lambda _{o}$ ), loss, wide bandwidth. fabricated Roger/RT 6002 substrate material thickness 0.762 mm. measured results highlight that can provide good return bandwidth 26.5% 30 GHz isolation beyond 15 dB. difference between output ports equal $90^\circ \pm ~5^\circ $ through interested operating clear agreement simulated over assigned has been illustrated.
